Agreement reached after mediation in pay settlement
Mediation between the state, Unio and Akademikerne concluded successfully after 10 hours of overtime. The agreement means that the collective agreement for Unio and Akademikerne will be continued and improved on several points.
The overall pay framework is 4.4%, meaning that average annual salaries are expected to increase by 4.4% over the course of the year. The entire pay pot is negotiated locally between the parties, as before. From the 4.4%, deductions are made for carryover (the effect of last year's settlement in the first four months of this year) and wage drift (salary increases granted outside the pay settlement). What remains for distribution is 1.9%, and since this is spread across the eight months following the effective date of 1 May, it corresponds to a pay pot equivalent to a 2.7% average salary increase.
This year's negotiations were demanding. The state, LO and YS wanted a single joint collective agreement, while Unio and Akademikerne wished to retain their own. During the process, YS chose to join the Unio and Akademikerne agreement. When it became clear to LO that they would not succeed in their push for centrally negotiated general pay increases, they too agreed to join the joint collective agreement — which now brings all four main confederations together under one framework.
Locally, this represents a significant simplification: all parties will participate in a single joint pay negotiation.
We will provide further information about the implementation of the pay settlement at UiA as details are confirmed.
